Methiri Shatrughna Temple is a perfect instance of impeccable architecture. The main shrine is built in hard stone and is adorned by intricate engravings. The deity here is believed to be Shatrugna’s till noon, and ‘Santana Gopalan’ afterwards. It is because of this reason that the sacred pilgrimage (nalambalam) to worship the deities of Rama, Lakshmana, Bharatha, and Shatrughna should be completed before noon (ucha pooja). A 3D depiction of the tales from Ramayana engraved on the outer walls of the main shrine is immensely attractive.
